I was in a true crime themed art show in Tallahassee and decided to make a piece dedicated to Florida Man, a super hero for us Floridians, who's always breakin' the law apologizing for nothin'. I took real headlines used to tell the stories of ridiculous crimes committed by people in the Sunshine State, then created an illustration inspired by that headline and screen printed and folded it into an accordion book. Through my research I found that Florida Man is just a character with natural human emotions and although outlandish and incredibly insane, there's a little bit of FM in all of us. I wouldn't create a book without a bonus so the back reveals my interpretation of the Florida Man mascot.
